Darling Hemp Review

We’re looking out for you, darling. This could work as our slogan too, but we think it’s better suited to Darling Hemp, a new CBD vendor specializing in potent CBD hemp flower. The brand has a positive vibe and natural, earthy feel, but unfortunately, we just don’t know enough about their hemp to award them more than one badge. Hopefully, Darling Hemp can disclose more information and run some more safety tests to get in the game.

Darling Hemp wants you to know they pride themselves for having a positive company culture, stating:

We are passionate about the products we make and the people who make them. We pay our employees a living wage and work hard to foster a thriving work environment. After all, they’re our Darlings.

The brand comes off sincerely, and we actually applaud them for putting this out there. Positive company culture is always a good sign and usually an unofficial indicator of high-quality CBD products. When people are treated well and love what they do, it comes through in what they offer. So, kudos on this front.

While the pictures of CBD hemp flower on the Darling Hemp site are undoubtedly convincing, with healthy buds in full view, we don’t know where they source the hemp. We’re familiar with the strains, and they’re probably coming from Oregon or Colorado. But without clarification, the Quality Badge is on hold.

The Safety Badge will also have to wait. Darling Hemp has current third-party cannabinoid profiles posted for each strain, but there are zero contaminants tests available. The CBD brand mentions that they conduct said testing but we can find no evidence. On top of that, we do not know the extraction method for their CBD oil tinctures, and there is no CoA posted for that product.

The Darling Hemp catalog centers around premium CBD hemp flower, their signature product. The company offers five strains of hand-selected nugs that come in humidity-controlled packages and include the following strains: Suver Haze, Cherry Wine, Special Sauce, Lifter, and Sour Space Candy.

For CBD hemp flower enthusiasts, these names will ring a bell, since they’re popular in the space. Cherry Wine is known for its wonderful aroma and tasty flavor blend, and the most potent of the line is the Suver Haze at 19% total CBD. The rest of the strains hover around 15% CBD per volume. Prices on the straight-up CBD hemp flower range from $10 for 1 gram to $30 for 3 ½ grams.

Next, Darling Hemp offers CBD flower pre-rolls in two sizes, and you can choose your strain. One pack of seven pre-rolls will run you $35. These average about 75mg of CBD each. If you’re new to CBD, start by smoking half and gradually work your way up (though Darling Hemp seems to cater more to the CBD experienced).

You can also get 1-gram pre-rolls in all five strains for $10/each. These are highly potent with around 150mg cannabidiol in every pre-roll.

Finally, Darling Hemp makes CBD oil tinctures suspended in organic MCT oil with zero additives. Again, we cannot view a CoA for residual solvents to confirm quality and safety, but we approve of the simple ingredients. We’d like to know which strain(s) is used in the broad spectrum tinctures or if these are sourced elsewhere.

Bottom Line – Darling Hemp has good intentions and from the looks of it, a really nice CBD hemp flower line. However, they’ll need to provide more info on their sourcing and testing protocols, plus get involved with charitable and/or innovative endeavors, to get a higher rating.
