Pure Hemp Shop says its CBD oil is as unsullied as its name implies, coming exclusively from pesticide- and chemical-free farms that the company’s owners have gone so far to personally visit (and get a literal feel for the soil). Still, we take a bit more issue with the purity of other ingredients the involved in the huge range of products. Pure Hemp’s CBD skincare line is especially unnatural and many of its CBD edibles employ the use of food coloring additives. Though, the store certainly offers a huge array of other cannabidiol options—for affordable prices.
Pure Hemp Shop says all of its products are made in small batches, in order to maintain the purity of the CBD oil and the freshness of other ingredients involved. And with the breadth of products available, one can only imagine how busy they must be.
The company has everything in stock from CBD oil tinctures—for both humans and pets—to capsules to cannabidiol vape cartridges. CBD edibles are available, as well as CBD cooking essentials, like a line of CBD oils a bit tastier than your typical MCT. (Products include cannabidiol-infused balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and chili oil).
Topical cannabidiol options include sprays and lotions formulated to target everything from pain relief to weight loss. And an entire beauty line can also be found in the store.
We’re not only impressed by the sheer range of inventory, but by the fact that each and every product contains an up-to-date Certificate of Analysis, proving the potency of the CBD oil involved. (The company misses notching our safety badge, however, as there are no test results for heavy metals in its products—a must in our book).
Still, we’re finicky about every ingredient involved—not just the CBD oil—and would note that Pure Hemp Shop’s skincare line, in particular, is not all-natural. Nearly all of its skincare products include components we don’t typically like to see, such as polysorbate 20 and PEG 100—additives treated with noxious ethylene oxide; the silicon lubricant dimethicone; the chemical preservative phenoxyethanol; and the additive EDTA. Its pair of facial cleansers are also made with the preservatives methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone, which we find particularly risky as the substances were found to be neurotoxins in previous mammalian brain studies.
Many of the CBD edibles make use of artificial food dyes, some of which have previously been called out by the Food and Drug Administration, and its CBD gummies are not vegan- or vegetarian-friendly. The odd product, including a few CBD bath bombs and CBD sprays, don’t have any ingredients listed at all.
Pure Hemp Shop’s most pared down products—its range of CBD oil tinctures—do seem to hit the all-natural mark, however. And price range isn’t nearly as expansive as its inventory, starting at $9.50 for a tube of cannabidiol chap stick and reaching $75 for Pure Hemp’s largest tincture of CBD oil.
Bottom Line – Pure Hemp Shop offers an almost ridiculously broad range of CBD-infused options at very affordable prices. But we fear the company may be working under a slight misnomer. Many items for sale—especially in its skincare line—aren’t quite as natural as “Pure” would imply, using a few key ingredients that raise red flags for us. And though each product for sale does have an accompanying Certificate of Analysis, we can’t speak for the purity of the CBD oil, as Pure Hemp Shop has opted out of testing for the presence of heavy metals and other residual contaminants, which we need to see in order to award our safety badge.
Pure Hemp Shop uses the effective, safe, and environmentally-friendly CO2 extraction method to separate cannabidiol from their hemp plants and their CBD oil-based products are made in an FDA-compliant facility.
Pure Hemp Shop has not been verified to provide current, third-party lab results for both potency and contaminants.
Pure Hemp Shop has not been verified to actively engage in charity, from compassionate discounts to nonprofit work.
Pure Hemp Shop offers a bastion of affordable cannabidiol options, covering the bases for nearly anyone interested in getting more CBD oil in their lives.
With an absolutely enormous inventory in play, Pure Hemp has concocted a number of fun and rarely-seen CBD-infused products including cannabidiol balsamic vinegar, chili oil, and olive oil.
