When it comes to research-backed CBD oil, Provacan knocks it out of the park. Meet the UK CBD brand intimately involved with some of the world’s most groundbreaking cannabis research in Israel. Provacan has developed a fantastic line of potent, innovative CBD products. Right now, they come in at three of five badges, according to our methodology. We look forward to seeing more from the UK’s first certified kosher cannabis brand.

Provacan is the consumer product segment of CiiTECH, a world-renowned cannabis research firm. Research is the name of the game at Provacan, partnering with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and specifically, Dr. Yosef Tam’s team at the Multidisciplinary Center for Cannabinoid Research. They are currently involved in a study on CBD for asthma along with other forward-thinking projects.

If you didn’t know, Israel has long been at the forefront of groundbreaking cannabis research. For one, delta-9 THC (psychoactive) was first identified and synthesized by scientists there in 1964. And the entourage effect? The term was coined by two prominent Israeli scientific researchers as well.

Today, Israel continues to be a hotbed for cannabis science and attracts great minds from around the world. Provacan takes this global expertise and data-backed evidence to create their CBD formulations. They source hemp from certified-organic farms in the EU and utilize supercritical CO2 extraction, making them easy candidates for the Quality Badge.

Provacan currently does not post any of their CoAs online — making them ineligible for our Safety Badge — but results are readily available upon request. For whatever reason, we notice that most UK vendors do not post their independent test results to their sites.

Our CBD friends across the pond also tend to be lacking in the charity department. Provacan’s parent company CiiTECH is involved with cannabis research that will potentially have a hugely positive impact on those suffering from health conditions. They’re certainly innovative and highly ethical, but they don’t quite qualify for the Charity Badge. We’d need to see something like a compassionate discount program or involvement with a registered nonprofit.

Let’s get into Provacan’s CBD catalog. The brand ships internationally, so most of you will be able to get your hands on their products, depending on the regulations where you live. Provacan offers the following options for the CBD consumer:

• CBD oil tinctures – These are available in 300, 600, 1200, and a limited-edition 2400mg concentrations. Provacan claims their CBD oil is stacked with multiple cannabinoids like.
• CBG and terpenes to support the entourage effect.
• CBD paste – Provacan’s CBD paste is their most potent product at a whopping 2500mg. CBD paste gives you the benefit of CBD in its raw form (more of the parent cannabinoids like CBDA and CBGA are present). Unlike tinctures, CBD paste does not need to be placed under the tongue. You can simply dissolve it in the mouth for effective absorption.
• CBD capsules
• CBD lozenges – This is the first CBD lozenge we have ever seen made from full-spectrum CBD paste!
• CBD e-liquid – Provacan was actually the first UK brand to offer full-spectrum CBD vape oil.
• CBD topicals and skincare – As far as CBD topical lines go, this one is relatively clean. Each product is made with CBD isolate, and some are all-natural, including the CBD balm, bath salts, massage oil, and lip balm. The rest of the products contain at least one synthetic — but no more than two — with no deal breakers like parabens or phthalates. Again, relatively clean.
