Married couple Gerry and Dolores experienced multiple natural benefits by incorporating CBD into their daily health regimen. This inspired them to take their passion to the people, and MedJoy was born. MedJoy offers premium full spectrum and isolate products for humans and pets, plus a bulk buying program for retailers. They are a relatively new company, having arrived on the scene in October 2017. MedJoy is off to a great start but could improve their reputation by way of disclosure, and in time, may be considered for more merit badges.

MedJoy is a subsidiary of Encinitas Hemp, Inc., a California company founded in late 2017 by Gerry and Dolores, a married couple of cannabis enthusiasts. They experienced positive effects of CBD oil first-hand for pain relief, mood, and sleep support and decided to turn their passion into a business. Gerry and Dolores found that CBD helped them achieve a more balanced life from an all-natural solution to common issues that optimized their endocannabinoid system.

MedJoy sources industrial hemp grown under organic protocols in Colorado, i.e. no pesticides, herbicides, GMOs, chemical fertilizers, etc. They employ supercritical CO2 extraction, a clean method we approve of. MedJoy claims their CBD is third-party tested, but there is a lack of transparency with these results. We justifiably cannot award them the Safety Badge for this reason.

MedJoy CBD products are divided into three categories: people, pets, and bulk. Under the umbrella of people products are softgels, balms, CBD syringes, full spectrum tinctures, isolate powder, bath bombs, and Hemp Pain Relief Cream. The softgels are offered with either full spectrum hemp oil or CBD isolate. Interestingly, we found a discrepancy in their labeling. Their THC-Free CBD Extra Strength Balm has a product label that reads ‘full spectrum’, but the key ingredient is CBD isolate, not full spectrum oil. An oversight perhaps, but an important detail that needs correction.

The CBD product line for pets features tasty chicken-flavored capsules, full spectrum balm (we checked, it’s actually full spectrum), and a syringe perfect for squirting on food. The bulk offerings require proof of funds and letters of intent to purchase distillate oil, high-grade CBD hemp seeds by the kilo, and bulk high CBD hemp, which consists of whole plant hemp material sans stalks and stems.

Despite the MedJoy mission to provide people and pets with balance of body and mind, they are not currently affiliated with any charitable organizations from what we can see.

Bottom Line – MedJoy has a solid mission and products of reasonable quality, but their newness in the industry shows in their failure to disclose test results and in the mislabeling of their balm. With time, they can adapt and be a future contender for more badges.
