Between commuting, sitting at a desk all day, exercising, and poor posture, pain can become an inevitable part of daily life. Some people turn to medication for relief; others may look for more natural solutions, like a good chiropractor and cannabidiol, or CBD. Recently, we too turned to a chiropractor.
CBD Oil Review's CEO Nick Musica sat down with Paul Paez who is a doctor of chiropractic in Encinitas, CA to talk about how his patients have been using CBD oil and the results they have experienced. Paul Paez has been a practicing chiropractor since 2001, and specializes in posture correction, animal chiropractics, nutrition, and natural approaches for optimizing wellness.
Nick Musica (CBD Oil Review): How did you first get acquainted with CBD?
Paul Paez (Paez Chiro Care): I’ve been in practice more than 18 years now and when I decided to enter the healthcare field I also committed myself to be open to new ideas and modalities on how to best maximize health and healing. When a good friend introduced me to CBD as a tincture about 4 to 5 years ago and explained the endocannabinoid system and how it could help with pain and inflammation, this caught my attention. I work with clients needing and seeking natural pain relief so CBD held a lot of promise for these people.
What results have you seen personally from taking CBD?
Before I recommend or apply a therapy to my clients I test it on myself first. I have found instant relief of musculoskeletal pain with topical salves that contain greater than 500mg of CBD per ounce. Using CBD as a tincture has given me amazing results with deeper sleep.
How long have you been working with CBD in your chiropractic work?
I have tested dozens of products over the past 5 years, mostly salves.
How do you incorporate CBD into your chiropractic work?
Before I recommend or apply a therapy to my clients I test it on myself first.
I recommend clients go to my website to check the products I’ve reviewed and recommend. As a general practice, I include CBD in my muscle release technique, which is integrated with chiropractic posture correcting adjustments.
Based on the feedback you have received from patients, who does CBD work for?
I explain to my clients that there are two basic classifications of pain. For deep pain, the kind you can’t seem to locate through touch, I recommend they try CBD oil orally or as a vape. The second pain is one you can find and usually replicate or increase through touch. For this I recommend the topical salves or creams.
You also work with animals in your chiropractic work. Do you also incorporate CBD when working with animals?
CBD has been consistent in its results to reduce physical discomfort as well offering a calming effect on my animal clients. I suggest my animal owners use CBD for pain or inflammation of joints or if their pet is anxious or stressed. I have found instant relief of musculoskeletal pain with topical salves that contain greater than 500mg of CBD per ounce.
If there is one thing you wish folks would take away as it pertains to CBD and posture what would that be?
Good, healthy posture is by design, meaning your body was born with the innate system and “desire” to be balanced. My role is to help people’s bodies to remember how to be balanced, and to achieve it in a natural way. I would love for folks to know that when using CBD, it needs to be the best quality with the appropriate mode of delivery.
How can folks learn more about your chiropractic and posture work?
My passion is to empower people through education. The more educated someone is about how their body’s work, the easier it is to choose healthcare modalities that bring about greater balance and wholeness to their lives. To assist in this I created posturepossible.com an online educational resource on all things posture related.
