Eqova Life Sciences is the first brand to offer full spectrum CBD oil exclusively to medical practitioners. The company talks a big game about backing all their products with hard science, medical expertise, and comprehensive testing. They seem to have all the credentials to do what they say they do. According to our methodology, however, they lose ground since they do not post any independent lab results or disclose the origin of their hemp. And unfortunately, this is another case of a CBD vendor claiming to use all-natural ingredients and doing the opposite. We’re justifiably a little cautious.

Eqova sells exclusively to medical practitioners, so the only way to get your hands on their CBD products is through a licensed physician. The company believes as we do, that everyone can achieve vibrant health without always resorting to prescriptions or surgeries; nature and science offer less risky alternatives. Their main goal is to distribute scientifically sound CBD products through the professionals that know people’s health conditions best, their doctors.

Part of the company mission arises from the vast misinformation all over the internet about CBD. By using Eqova, patients can stop the guessing game with CBD products researched by medical experts and formulated based on scientific literature, not lofty claims. A holistic approach to modern medicine is the mantra, and the company’s CSO holds both an M.D. and Ph.D. in pharmacology. So far, so good.

Eqova claims their CBD oil products are rigorously tested by independent laboratories, which may be true, but because they provide no evidence online, we are unable to award the Safety Badge. Considering their line is being administered by doctors whose patients have legitimate health issues, we sincerely hope their claim is accurate and that they provide medical practitioners with test data.

We’re justifiably wary of the previous claim, since Eqova makes another one that doesn’t quite check out. They say their CBD products are formulated by experts with natural ingredients, but their CannaBio Muscle Calm has an insane amount of synthetics, including dangerous parabens. Parabens mimic estrogen and may cause endocrine disruption; many major cosmetic/beauty companies have removed them from their lines following scary studies and increased public awareness. Eqova even brags on their homepage that they have “superior ingredients, superior results,” but we can assertively say there is nothing superior whatsoever about parabens.

The Eqova product lineup for medical professionals is basic, with just five options containing full spectrum, CO2-extracted cannabidiol:

• CBD Muscle Balm
• CBD Liposomal Tinctures

All in all, Eqova seems reputable, but it bugs us that they’ve included the chemical nasties in their muscle balm. Moves like this are part of the reason why many do not trust the medical community and hence, look for more natural solutions (hello CBD!). We highly encourage them to remove the phenoxyethanol, multiple parabens, and triethanolamine from their CBD balm in favor of all-natural ingredients. It’s really a win-win and will do them more good than anything.

Bottom Line – Eqova needs to disclose where their industrial hemp is grown and their third-party lab results in order to qualify for both the Quality Badge and the Safety Badge. Their CBD products are only available through medical practitioners, so you won’t be able to purchase online unless you are one. If so, look elsewhere for a CBD balm.
