Populum is out to destigmatize hemp. Join the club. They aim to make CBD benefits accessible and affordable for everyone, taking their name from the Latin ad populum, meaning “for the people.” Populum uses food-grade ethanol extraction followed by fractionalized distillation and sources their CBD hemp from domestic Colorado farms. We love that they offer a risk-free 30-day trial geared toward CBD first-timers to try out their products and experience the positive effects for themselves. See why we consider Populum a solid brand.
Populum believes being healthy and well should be accessible to all, and we couldn’t agree more. They emphasize that pharmaceuticals aren’t for everyone, and those looking for more natural remedies that won’t break the bank will find a solution with Populum. The company produces their CBD oil in Colorado, from the farms where their hemp is organically grown to the GMP-standard facility used for manufacturing and packaging.
The company utilizes food-grade ethanol extraction followed by fractionalized distillation for CBD hemp oil that is ultra-refined, free of plant waxes and lipids, but still maintains a strong cannabinoid profile. Populum stands behind the benefits of full-spectrum CBD, exclusively offering this variation of cannabidiol in the product line.
Populum’s CBD product lineup is focused and intentional. Their full-spectrum CBD oil tinctures are available in 250, 500, and 1000 milligram bottles and contain an interesting mix of cold-pressed orange oil, grapeseed oil, hemp seed oil, and coconut oil. Usually, CBD purveyors select just one of these oils to use as a carrier, but the combination here is not only delicious but highly nutritious.
Next up, CBD capsules in concentrations of 15mg and 25mg each are great options for accurate dosing and traveling. Zen Pets is the name of their CBD oil for pets offered in a lower concentration for furry friends. Zen Pets also features CBD pet chews with quality, all-natural ingredients. A CBD face oil with lavender is coming soon!
Finally, Populum makes a Cold Therapy Hemp Rub with full-spectrum CBD, chamomile, arnica, and aloe vera. But there are some chemical nasties lurking beneath the surface. This product also contains methylparaben, a chemical preservative. Their CBD topical contains triethanolamine, a pH adjusting agent on the list of Canada’s Prohibited and Restricted Cosmetic Ingredients. Yikes.
These are just two synthetics, but we say ‘yikes’ because Populum claims to use natural ingredients and then hides these chemical additives (they’re not listed on the product page; you have to click to see the full label where they are disclosed). We suggest they either ditch the natural claims or get rid of these two ingredients.
Due to their veterans’ product discount, Populum easily qualifies for the Charity Badge. They earn the Safety Badge too, although their situation is a special one. The brand does not post-independent test results directly but organizes them in an easy-to-read format that they produce internally. We checked, and all their lab results are produced by a third party and match the results displayed by Populum. We were also able to view contaminants results for pesticides and heavy metals which are not currently posted on the website. It all checks out.
Bottom Line – Populum earns major points for quality and customer service for their solid CBD product line.

Bad company. Bad products. They do not stand by their product or their guarantee nor do they seem concerned about their customers. Don’t believe any of the hype about their so called “Lab Analysis. You definitely will second guess it when you wind up in the hospital.
