Some lab tests posted online
Want affordable CBD options? Vib (pronounced “vibe”) has the answer with CBD oil tinctures and disposable CBD vape pens that are a great bargain. However, we are unsure of some important factors with this brand. We don’t know where their CBD hemp is sourced, for one, nor how it is extracted. And we have pressing questions about their independent lab results that make us hesitant to feel the vibe, at least for now.
We’re unsure of the origins of the Vib brand — their story, their founders, etc. — but they say a lot of the right things. They claim their non-GMO hemp is never treated with harmful pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers, which is excellent, and they offer free shipping on orders over $99. But they fail to mention exactly where aforementioned hemp is grown, and because Vib also fails to disclose their extraction method, we are unable to award the Quality Badge at this time.
Vib wants to be a go-to brand for all things CBD, but for now, they only offer CBD oil tinctures and disposable CBD vape pens, both made with 99%+ CBD isolate. These offerings come in two flavors: cool mint ‘Awaken’ and passionfruit ‘Revive.’ Though the company doesn’t have a ton of reviews, all of them to date are positive, with nods to great flavor and efficacy.
Interestingly, both the CBD vape pens and the tinctures have the exact same ingredients — CBD isolate, MCT oil, and natural flavors. We give Vib props on the simplicity and purity of their ingredient choices, but we do have a bone to pick with the product descriptions for their CBD oil drops. These state the products are ‘100% natural & organic’, but their MCT oil is not certified organic. It may seem like a small thing, but tons of brands now are throwing around the organic claim, so we have to investigate it when we see it.
Another bone we’re picking is in regards to the Safety Badge, which at this point, Vib does not qualify for. First off, only their vape pens have accompanying third-party results (to qualify, we need cannabinoid profiles for each SKU). Second, something seems amiss with their contaminants tests.
The Awaken CBD vape pen apparently did not receive a ‘passed’ or ‘N/A’ grade for heavy metals and residual solvents. The CoA issued by Evio Labs states these contaminants were ‘tested,’ but Vib did not post the results. The Revive vape pen received a passing grade for residual solvents, but also reads ‘tested’ for heavy metals instead of ‘N/A’ or ‘passed.’ Yikes.
Without any charitable activity or innovative processes/products, the rating is low on this one, but honestly, it’s the contaminants tests we are most concerned about.
Bottom Line – Until each of Vib’s CBD products shows a passing grade for residual solvents and heavy metals, we’re justifiably reticent to spread their vibe.
