This small, women-owned CBD operation out of Tennessee is turning some heads in the business. That’s kind of their thing, seeing as co-founder and hemp farmer Christie was instrumental in making the hemp movement what it is today in their state. We love the fact that Yuyo’s hemp is not only grown organically, but under the auspices of biodynamics, a truly holistic approach to farming. Yuyo Botanics ranks low with us because of what we believe is simply missing information, as their products and processes appear to be stellar.

Yuyo Botanics was founded by longtime hemp farmer Christie Tarleton and Amanda Mutsui. Their elegant line of CBD products exudes girl power, and the two are ensconced in their local community, frequently giving educational talks about the benefits of CBD oil.

Yuyo is a member of the Tennessee Hemp Industries Association, and Christie and her husband played a big role in lobbying for better hemp laws in the state. They’ve been an integral part of the Tennessee Hemp Pilot Program since its inception, and Yuyo is a vertically integrated CBD enterprise, meaning they control every aspect of production.

The CBD product line itself doesn’t contain anything particularly new or exciting, but the ingredients are some of the cleanest we’ve seen. In a sense, that’s something both new and exciting in an industry that unfortunately often adds low-grade additives and artificial elements.

Plus, the brand gets major innovation points for their biodynamic growing techniques. What is biodynamic farming? Think next-level organic. In addition to foregoing chemical fertilizers and GMOs, the biodynamic approach sees the farm as an entire organism, complete with its own biodiversity and even its own immune system. Biodynamics involves the integration of both crops and livestock, and Yuyo has adorable sheep that they raise along with their organic hemp.

So, when Yuyo Botanics promises sustainability, they really back it up. Their ingredients list is impeccable, entirely organic and biodynamically sourced when possible. Goodies like organic ginger oil, rosemary oil, and grapeseed oil are just a few of their powerhouse botanics.

Their CBD product catalog is focused and minimal with just four offerings. The first is their AM formula CBD tincture with ashwagandha, and their PM formula contains hops (don’t give this one to pets) and sweet orange with CBD for chronic pain and of course, sleep. These two are made with CBD isolate, but Yuyo also offers a full spectrum tincture from their strain of Late Tsunami hemp. Finally, they make an all-natural CBD salve with turmeric, cayenne, menthol and aloe, a great way to boost blood flow to sore muscles.

Unfortunately, Yuyo’s CoAs are out of date, and they only contain cannabinoid profiles. They’ll need to provide current results for their SKUs as well as contaminants results to earn the Safety Badge.

And although we cannot award the Quality Badge, we believe Yuyo’s CBD oil products are indeed top notch. According to our methodology, we would need to know their extraction method or see a contaminants test for residual solvents to award this one. We think this is simply a case of missing information, and we hope the brand discloses this info soon.

Bottom Line – Yuyo Botanics has a small line of CBD products with organic ingredients and impeccable hemp growing techniques. We encourage them to post current test results, especially for residual solvents, that would qualify them for more badges. If they can get involved in charity too, we’ll be looking at a five-badge vendor.
