Cannabidiol may be a new frontier for Maryland’s Livity Foods, but its parent plant, hemp, certainly isn’t. The company makes the popular Ever Bar, which already utilizes nutrient-dense hemp seeds to help power its eaters through an active day, but with its new line of CBD oil-infused bars, the company hopes to introduce even more nature-based goodness to the mix. We just wish they’d offer a little more background information on their new star ingredient.
Maryland-based Livity Foods is the maker of the Ever Bar, which harnesses all the nutritional power of hemp to create a nutrient-dense snack for health food lovers.
The company’s foray into CBD oil, with a product line called Ever Hemp+, has it dropping the additional plant-based element into its patented mix, adding even more nature-based oomph—and omega fatty acids—to the line-up of already good-for-you fixins.
Bars come in four different flavors: almond cranberry; blueberry cashew; cinnamon ginger; and “green power,” which studs its hemp seed base with cranberries. And the bars seem truly as healthy as marketed, with no artificial sweeteners or red flag-raising additives.
Still, we wish Livity would give us a bit more insight on the key ingredient of its Ever Hemp+ line, the cannabidiol itself. We do get a bit of information on the product pages, including that the company’s CBD oil is full-spectrum, extracted from industrial hemp, and contains 25mg of cannabidiol per milliliter.
But there’s no mention on where the industrial hemp is grown or how the CBD oil is extracted, nor any allusion to third-party testing, let alone results.
There’s also very little company background information to go off of, and while the all-natural ingredients speak loudly for Livity Foods, we wish the company would do a little more to speak for itself when it comes to a general ethos.
Ever Hemp+ bars are sold on the website either individually or in a case of 16, with prices ranging from $8 for a single bar to $108 for the full box.
Bottom Line – We understand that Livity Foods is a snack food company first, and a CBD edible purveyor second, but we still wish the retailer would provide us a few more details on its cannabidiol. We don’t see any reference to where the hemp it uses is sourced or how its CBD oil is extracted, leaving out our quality badge. And we can’t award our safety badge until we see the results of some third-party lab tests, which the company doesn’t mention at all.
