The Pur 7 claim to fame is their water-soluble technology now common in the CBD sphere but pioneered by the company early on in the game. Water-soluble CBD has been shown to be more bioavailable than unformulated CBD, meaning it is absorbed by the body at a greater rate, and many vendors now offer water-soluble options or strictly water-soluble product lines. Pur 7 has a very basic line with just two full spectrum products: a CBD roll-on and tinctures. We’re a bit suspect of the ingredients in their tinctures, and we need to see more by way of safety testing to give this brand the go ahead.

Pur 7 is the online retail operation of parent company PurHealthRX from the UK. They’ve been experimenting with and developing technology for more bioavailable CBD oil for the past six years, making them an early trailblazer of water-soluble CBD.

Unlike other vendors out there selling water-soluble CBD, Pur 7 is a bit vague when describing the technology behind their Purzorb™ CBD oil. They talk about micelles on the blog and how their technology mimics the body’s mechanism for making oil-based substances bioavailable. We’ll cut to the chase and simply tell you that they create a fat layer within the CBD molecules that makes them water soluble and better absorbed by the body. Capeesh?

To showcase its superiority, Pur 7 has a couple of impressive graphs that showcase the benefits of their Purzorb™ technology based on lab studies. They claim their CBD oil is 85% bio-absorbable, 14 times more than raw CBD oil, meaning less doses are needed to achieve effect. Plus, they claim that effects begin sooner, around 15-30 minutes, as opposed to 60-90 minutes with traditional, unformulated CBD oil.

The Pur 7 line contains just two full spectrum formulations: a CBD topical roll-on and CBD oil tinctures. The roll-on costs around $40 and features clean, all-natural ingredients like geranium oil and rosemary oil. Tinctures are $100 for a one-ounce bottle, and come in mocha, cinnamon, and wild berry flavors. Customers can also purchase half-ounce, travel-size bottles and save by purchasing three to four CBD oil bottles at once.

The ingredients in Pur 7’s full spectrum tinctures are a huge departure from what we normally see with tinctures. Normally, CBD oil tinctures contain cannabidiol, a carrier oil like MCT or hemp seed oil, and maybe an essential oil or other natural flavoring here and there. The Pur 7 tinctures contain full spectrum Purzorb™, water, vegetable stearate, natural flavors, sucralose, citric acid, sodium benzoate, and potassium sorbate. Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are powerful preservatives; the latter has been known to cause allergic reactions in some cases. We’d be interested to hear the reasoning behind this barrage of uncommon and not-so-clean ingredients, but we bet it has to do with improving shelf life.

We do not know the extraction method employed by Pur 7, but the company does post up-to-date cannabinoid profiles for each SKU. However, there are no available tests for any contaminants on the site. Pur 7 claims to test for heavy metals, residual solvents, and pesticides, but because they do not post these results, we are unable to award the Safety Badge at this time.

Bottom Line – Pur 7 gets points for their innovative technology that makes CBD molecules water-soluble and highly bioavailable, but we’d like to see their contaminants results before signing off on the safety of their products.
