HYGIA Nutrients Review

A combination of a proprietary hemp cultivar, published scientific data comparing the competition, and many other sound product development practices puts HYGIA Nutrients in an elite but small group of CBD companies pushing boundaries and seeking to do things differently in the name of healing. HYGIA is dedicated to research and advanced technology to enhance the bioavailability of CBD, making it more effective for the consumer. There’s a bit lacking (which we discuss), but overall, HYGIA looks like an exciting, quality brand.

With a team of PhDs backing them up, HYGIA Nutrients is perhaps one of the more science-focused cannabinoid companies that we’ve seen. Utilizing research carried out at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, HYGIA Nutrients takes great pride in the potency and high bioavailability of the CBD oil products they offer – boasting “18X greater absorption” and “uniquely stable” formulations using their patent-pending nextHEMP Technology™.

But HYGIA isn’t uber specific as to what exactly this technology entails. Since their CBD oil is water-soluble, it obviously incorporates nanotechnology where molecules are shrunk to be better absorbed by cells. Judging from their graphics, HYGIA may additionally be surrounding CBD compounds with some sort of protective barrier (i.e. lipids) to protect them from digestive enzymes. We’d like more clarification on the specifics of the technology, especially since now other brands are using something similar.

Products on the HYGIA website are limited to just two options: nextHEMP 25C capsules and nextHEMP 10X capsules. Each features water-soluble CBD with the former containing isolate and the latter full spectrum cannabidiol. Depending on size, these range in price from $79.95 to $242.99.

Although there are no online Certificates of Analysis available to verify laboratory testing on any of their products, disqualifying them from our Safety Badge, HYGIA Nutrients steps up to the plate by adhering to FDA, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GAP (Good Agricultural Practices), EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), and kosher regulations.

Through their parent company, ANANDA Scientific, HYGIA publishes their in-house research data – and one graph in particular caught our interest. By measuring levels of TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor, a primary marker of inflammation) in individuals who either received standard CBD or formulations with their nextHEMP Technology™, their preliminary data proves that what HYGIA Nutrients offers provides significant benefits over the competition. Thanks to this Total Bioavailability™, HYGIA’s cannabinoid medicinals surpass much of the competition according to their team. If they were to conduct the same tests using a third party, we’d really be blown away.

Bottom Line – HYGIA Nutrients talks a lot of game about their technology that has apparently phenomenal implications, but we’d like to know more about the specifics. They may have been at the forefront of water-soluble CBD technology in the beginning, but now this technology is not uncommon in the industry. Posting independent test results for safety is also a necessary next step.
